Flag-Off Frenzy: APC Oto-Awori LCDA Sets the Tone for July 12 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA) successfully flagged off its campaign today, June 29, 2025, at Ile-Oba Bus Stop, Ijanikin, Lagos State. The event was filled with fanfare, jamboree, and razzmatazz, as party faithful, supporters, and stakeholders gathered to set the tone for a vigorous campaign season.

The APC Chairman in Lagos State, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, in company of the LOC Chairman, Hon. Surajudeen Tijani (Emir) and other political leaders, was present and played a fatherly role, urging APC Oto-Awori LCDA to reciprocate the State Government's developmental strides with their massive votes come July 12 elections. He handed over the Party flag to the Party Chairman in the Local Council, who subsequently presented it to all the APC candidates.
The candidates include Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun (Chairmanship candidate); Hon. Moses Olabisi Aina (Vice Chairmanship candidate); and Councillorship candidates: Hon. Bashiru Salami (Ward A - Oto-Awori); Hon. Bashiru Olamilekan Safari (Ward B - Ijanikin); Hon. Afolabi-Aso Christiana (Ward C - Ilogbo Elegba); Hon. John Falana (Ward D - Etegbin); and Hon. Audu Awoyemi (Ward E - Ese-Ofin).

Speaking on behalf of all the candidates, Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun outlined his administration's plans, promising to kick-start governance immediately after assumption of office. His manifesto highlighted key initiatives, including:

✍️Reactivation of all Primary Healthcare Centres for efficient service delivery.
✍️ Promotion of commercial and large scale farming activities for food security
✍️ Women empowerment and business support Promotion of entertainment, tourism, and culture.
✍️ Activation of the annual Awori Heritage Festival of Arts and Culture 
- Improved relationship with the Council of Obas and Chiefs
✍️Improved mobilization of internally generated revenue and blocking all leakages
✍️Stipends for aged people in the communities, and many more creative ideas enlisted in his speech for Youth and women.

The event drew a diverse crowd, including representatives from other ethnic nationalities such as the Arewa community, N'digbo in APC, and the South-South. Prominent associations like CDC/CDA, LASCOTA, NURTW, RTEAN, representatives of National Youth Council of Nigeria ( NYCN), and students' body including Zone 'D' of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Market Men and Women association, and a large retinue of APC members and supporters were also in attendance.

Notable leaders present included Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert ( Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftancy and Rural Development); Hon. Tolani Sule (Commissioner for Tertiary Education), Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi,  Apex Leader, Alhaji Mukadas; APC LGA Chairman, Chief Moses Olaleye, all Ward Chairmen, and Ward Apex leaders. The event's atmosphere was electric, with supporters cheering and chanting for the APC candidates.

With today's successful flag-off, the APC Oto-Awori LCDA is set to secure a resounding victory in the July 12, 2025 elections.
